Debian 11 Bullseye Published on October 2, 2021 The long-awaited new version of Debian has finally arrived and is now available as a one-click install on our VPS, at no extra cost. This release — Debian 11, codename Bullseye — brings a long list of new features and improvements. For starters, Debian 11 ships more than 11,294 new packages. That is a significant change, since 72% of the packages have been updated since the previous version, Debian 10. With this massive update you get the latest features and improvements available in the Debian ecosystem. One of the highlights of this release is the integration of the Linux 5.10 kernel as an LTS (Long Term Support) version, with five years of support. Debian 11 also natively supports WireGuard, a secure and fast VPN protocol. Debian 11 ships a wide variety of applications and desktop environments. You can pick from GNOME 3.38, KDE Plasma 5.20, LXDE 11, LXQt 0.16, MATE 1.24, and Xfce 4.16. That diversity lets you choose the desktop that best fits your needs and preferences. Bullseye is also the first Debian release to include native exFAT support — and exFAT is now used by default to mount exFAT filesystems. This makes it easier to use and exchange data on exFAT-compatible storage media.
